Nathan's guide to catching mice
Nathan Caton shares his tried, tested and trusted tips for catching mice...
- First, know your enemy. Get under the mouse’s skin. Get inside his mind. A good way of doing this is to eat a lot of cheese. (I’m lactose intolerant, so for me this is the hardest part.)
- Get on the trail. Look out for tell-tale signs of mouse activity. Nibbled food, droppings, mouse holes and a mouse running past you are all signs that a mouse is present.
- Be prepared to risk your life. This is war. It’s man versus mouse. Are you a man, or a mouse? If you’re a mouse, I will get you.
- Choose your weapons wisely. You can go in there with guns, with knives, with rocket launchers. But often a simple mouse trap is best.
- Patience is crucial. Patience and perseverance. You can’t just expect a mouse to run into your trap. You’ve got to wait it out. Softly, softly, catchee mousie.
- Never give up. Remember the words of Liam Neeson in Taken: “Mouse, if you quit my Grandma’s house, I won’t pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.”
