Di Department of State Services (DSS) for Nigeria don sama fresh court gbege on top former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and im son, Abdulaziz Malami bifor Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of di Federal High Court, Abuja.

Dis accuse dey different from di 16-count charge wey di Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) bin sama di former AGF, wey make am spend days for dia custody bifor court later remand am for Kuje prison.

Di court later grant am bail on 7 January 2026, but Malami bin raise alarm for im Facebook page say di DSS arrest am again immediately e complete im bail condition.

For di court mata wey hapun dis Tuesday, di DSS slap Malami with five-count charge wey border on terrorism and illegal firearms possession.

Di DSS also accuse say Malami bin deliberately fail to prosecute terrorism financiers wey dem bin hand ova dia case files to am wen e bin dey serve as AGF and Minister of Justice.

You, Abubakar Malami ... knowingly abet terrorism financing by refusing to prosecute terrorism financiers wey dia casefiles bin come to your office as di Attorney-General of di Federation, for prosecution, and you thereby commit offence contrary to and punishable under Section 26 (2) of Terrorism Act, 2022.

Count Two:

You, Abubakar Malami and Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami ... sometime for December, 2025, for your house for Kebbi State... bin engage in a conduct in preparation to commit act of terrorism by having in your possession and witout licence, a Sturm Magnum 17-0101 firearm, Sixteen (16) Redstar AAA 5°20 live rounds of Cartridges and Twenty-Seven (27) expended Redstar AAA 5'20 Cartridges, and thereby commit offence contrary to and punishable under Section 29 of Terrorism Act, 2022.

Count Three:

You, Abubakar Malami and Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, sometime for December, 2025, for your house for Kebbi State, get for your possession a Sturm Magnum 17-0101 firearm, and thereby commit offence contrary to Section 3 of Firearms Act 2004 and punishable under Section 27 (1) of di same Act.

Count Four:

You, Abubakar Malami and Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, sometime for December, 2025, for your house for Kebbi State, get for your possession sixteen (16) Redstar AAA 5'20 live rounds of cartridges, and thereby commit offence contrary to Section 8(1) of Firearms Act 2004 and punishable under Section 27 (1) of di same Act.

Count Five:

You, Abubakar Malami and Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, sometime for December, 2025, for your house for Kebbi State, have in your possession twenty-seven (27) expended Redstar AAA 5'20 cartridges, and thereby commit offence contrary to Section 8(1) of Firearms Act 2004 and punishable unda Section 27 (1) of di same Act.

As Malami and im son plead not guilty to di charges, di prosecution counsel, Calistus Eze ask di court to remand dem for DSS custody and to fix date for di trial to start.

But Shuaibu Aruwan wey be di counsel to di former AGF, make oral application for bail as e tell di court say im clients don dey for DSS custody for more dan two weeks now.

Di presiding judge reject di application and ask di defence to file proper application.

She den adjourn di mata to February 20 but order say make di defendants remain for DSS custody.

Di initial charges against Malami

On 30 December, 2025, Justice Emeka Nwite of di Federal High Court, Abuja, bin remand Abubakar Malami, im son and im wife for prison sake of 16-count charge of moni laundering wey di EFCC sama dem.

Di court later grant dem bail for di sum of 500 million naira and two sureties wey gatz get landed property for Asokoro or Maitama areas of Abuja.

  • Di EFCC claim say Malami and im son, between July 2022 and June 2025, bin buy one company "Metropolitan Auto Tech Limited", to take hide di unlawful origin of more dan one billion naira
  • Malami and im son also buy di Metropolitan Auto Tech Limited to take hide di unlawful origin of anoda sum of ova 600 million naira.
  • Malami bin use one company - Rahamaniyya Properties Limited - to hide di sum of 500 million naira wey e bin pay for one luxury duplex for Maitama, Abuja for November 2022.
  • Di three defendants bin hide di origin of anoda moni wey pass one billion naira through di Union Bank account of one Meethaq Hotels Ltd Jabi, Abuja.
  • Dem bin also join bodi to hide di sum of 700 million naira for one property for Garki, Abuja, and anoda 850 million naira for anoda property for Jabi District, Abuja.
  • Malami bin also allegedly buy anoda property for Maitama, Abuja, for di sum of 430 million naira, and for dat same month, e buy anoda property for Asokoro, Abuja, for di price of 210 million naira.
  • Oda property wey Malami, im wife and son bin allegedly buy wit moni wey no pure na: No. 1241B, Asokoro District for 325 million naira, between March and June 2021, and No. 27 Efab Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja for 120 million naira, between November 2015 and January 2016.

Dem also plead not guilty to dis charges.
