Di trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of di Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) no fit hold on Friday as planned.

As di mata start, Adegboyega Awomolo announce appearance for di prosecution, while Nnamdi Kanu announce appearance for imsef.

Kanu tell di court say since im lawyers withdraw, im neva get access to di case file. "My pipo wey suppose bring di file to me, di DSS no grant dem access to see me, so I dey hope say I go fit get di file dis weekend to prepare and by Monday I go dey ready," E tok.

Also, Kanu inform di court say di DSS dey allow visitors to see am for two hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but e dey beg di court to order dem to allow am access to visitors evriday.

"My Lord, I get 23 witnesses coming in from all ova di world to testify for dis matter, and I need to get enuf time to prepare," Kanu tok.

E also ask di court to order di DSS to allow foreign nationals inside dia premises bicos dem no dey do am at di moment. E say im get witnesses wey be citizens of di United Kindom, di United States, Ethiopia, etc, but e no fit get acces to dem sake of say di DSS no dey allow foreigners for dia premises.

Responding, Awomolo tok say e no get any objection if di defendant want make di court adjourn until Monday, but make e remember say di court don already give standing order say di defendant get six days to start and close im defence.

"Today na already day two of dat six days, all dis argument say witnesses dey come in from all over di world dey immaterial to di order wey court don already make," e tok.

Awomolo also tok say e dey aware say di court bailiff don start to give out letters to some of di witnesses wey Kanu bin list, "di ones wey e fit find".

Justice Omotosho say in di spirit of fair hearing, im go grant di adjournment wey di defendant ask for, make im former lawyers give am di case file so e go prepare wella.

E also order di DSS to allow Kanu access to im lawyers even on Saturday and Sunday.

Howeva, di trial judge say e no go vacate im courtroom again like e bin do on Monday, 21 October, for di defendant and im lawyers to hold pre-trial conference. According to im, dem no utilise dat opportunity well so e no go kontinu to dey waste di time of di court.

Omotosho say plenty oda matas wey im dey handle don suffer bicos of im decision to hear di mata fast-fast.

E mention say separate cases dey for im court dis morning wey involve Chinese nationals, South African and Zimbabwean, and dis pipo dey for custody, so e no dey fair on dem for dia mata to dey linger, while Nnamdi Kanu no dey utilise di time wey court don already allocate to am.

"I dey beg di defendant, I once again beg am in di name of Almighty God, make we make use of dis opportunity. If we no make use of dis opportunity e dey deny some litigants of dia matas being heard," Omotosho tok.

"I pray we go use dis opportunity, (bicos) di court no go hesitate to invoke di appropriate provisions of di law. But for fair-hearing, we go adhere to fair hearing, but we no go condone situation wia di time is not used."
