Di Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) tok say dem don reach agreement wit Dangote Refinery to dey lift petroleum products direct from dem.
Before now, di marketers dey go through di Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) before dem go fit buy product from di refinery, but dat arrangement stop for October afta NNPCL tok say dem no go continue wit am.
For one press conference on Monday, di IPMAN national chairman, Abubakar Maigandi, tok say: "We go soon start to dey lift directly through Dangote, and dat na why we dey inform all our members to get ready to start to dey get product direct from di refinery, not through third party".
About di price, oga Maigandi tok say already pipo know say di petroleum sector don dey fully deregulated, wey mean say di price dey determined by market forces.
"But we go soon start tok wit Dangote for di issue of price and immediately we get di actual price, we go inform you, and I assure you say di price we dey expect to get go dey lower by God's grace. And I assure you say dis product go dey available all ova di kontri. Scarcity no go dey again," e tok.
However, no date don dey fixed yet wen di independent marketers go start lifting from Dangote refinery.
Dangote Refinery na di only crude oil refinery wey dey work for Nigeria, and na Africa richest man Aliko Dangote get am.
Di oda four refineries wey di Nigeria goment establish, none of dem dey work. Nigeria bin dey depend on imports of petroleum products for dia local consumption even though di country na one of di largest producers of crude oil for Africa.
Petrol scarcity and hike in petrol pump prices na regular occurence for Nigeria sake of di up and down for di international price of crude oil, foreign exchange wahala for di kontri and transportation challenges.
For October, Dangote call di federal goment of Nigeria to stop NNPC and oda petroleum marketers from continuing to dey import because, according to am, im refinery dey capable to meet local demand.
“Wetin I estimate as our daily consumption na about 30-32 million litters, dat no really be issue because as we speak today, we get 500 million litres for our tanks," Dangote bin tok.
NNPCL still dey owe us big money - IPMAN
Alhaji Yahaya Yashima di chairman of IPMAN, Abuja and Suleja unit, tell BBC Pidgin say anoda big challenge na di big amount of money wey di Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) dey owe dam.
NMDPRA na part of NNPC and na dem be di middleman between Dangote refinery and private oil marketers.
Yashim, for phone interview wit our tori pesin on Tuesday tok say NMDPRA dey owe dem about 50 to 60 billion naira.
Dis na money wey several marketers bin don pay so dat dem go fit collect product from NNPC during di period wey di company be di only offtaker of Dangote petrol.
But afta NNPC cancel di arrangement, "many of our members wey bin don pay moni neva receive dia moni back and dem neva get di product wey dem pay for".
"We don take di matter to di NSA (National Security Adviser) and also DSS (Department of State Services) so dat dem go pay us our money, but unfortunately, dem don approve only 10 billion (naira) to pay us, wey dem don pay, but not all," Yashima tok.
Anoda Ipman member, Alhaji Yakubu Puka, tell BBC Pidgin say di situation don almost wreck some of dem wey be marketers.
"Many of us borrow money from bank to order dis products from NNPC, and since dat time, dem neva see product and dem neva get dia money back. So pipo don dey sell dia oda properties in oda to settle di money wey dem dey owe banks," Puka tok.
"If you check NNPC stations now, dem get fuel. Dem dey go to Dangote and dem dey buy but dem still dey hold our moni. As dem don tok say dem no go dey sell to us again, di right tin to do na to clear us any money wey dem dey owe us. But dem no do am."
Puka say if di situation continue, e fit lead to strike by di petrol tanker drivers, "because if NNPC dey owe us, we no go fit pay our staff and dem fit go on strike".
According to oga Puka, di places wey dey worst affected na di cities for di far end of di country like Sokoto, Maiduguri, Gusau, Yola, and dis na places wey don already dey suffer from Boko Haram insurgency and banditry.
"Now, di price of fuel dey around 1,200 - 1,300, maybe e fit reach 1,500 naira," e tok.
