Be warned – their humour is infectious! | Sir Ralph of Epperstone- Mon to Fri This medieval quack has a packful of remedies to peddle! | Swank - Mon Introducing the Damsels in Distress. From the dark days of yore come Lady Lust-a-Lot and Lady Longing-for-Love on a crusade to find their Knight in shining armour. These merry-making medieval babes are borne on the backs of Eric and Ernie their delightfully drippy dragons! | What a Palaver! - Mon to Fri Enjoy the frantic antics of these jovial jokes as they entertain you with all manner of japes and jests! | Ye Olde Red Tail Falconry Display - Wed A spectacular show by the country’s leading falconry outfit, whose birds have featured on TV and in films, including ‘Robin Hood Prince of Thieves’. | Zebediah the Ratcatcher - All week Take a peek into the Ratcatcher’s hovel – home of Zebediah and his wife, Morgator. A rousing start to the week’s events - as long as the Sheriff of Nottingham doesn’t turn up to spoil things! | Robin Hood's Treasure Hunt Tuesday 29 July 2.30pm, Visitor Centre The Sheriff thought his treasure would be safe from the outlaws if he hid it in the forest, what a fool! With your help Robin is hoping to find the lot and give it to the poor. Pick up a treasure map from Robin then search the forest. A certificate will be awarded to all successful treasure hunters. A small charge will be made. | Silk Painting Workshop Wednesday 30 July, 11am – 1pm A chance for adults to Join Next Stage for a silk painting session where you will produce your own piece of artwork to take home with you. £3 per person. Places are limited so advance booking is essential. Tel: 01623 823202. | Falconry Display 1.45pm & 3.15pm at the Jousting Arena Enjoy the skills of Ye Olde Red Tail Falconry as they fly falcons, hawks and owls. A spectacular show with the chance to get involved. | Knight School 2.30pm at the Jousting Arena A rare opportunity to see the stunt riders of the Legends re-enactment group practice their horsemanship and quintaine skills, before the weekend jousting tourneys. | Forest Feast 7.00 - 9.00pm Robin has been captured by the Sheriff and his soldiers! Wander the paths of Sherwood and solve the clues left with Robin’s supporters to secure his release. With clues completed enjoy a tasty peasant supper and find out if Robin has been saved. In between browsing the stalls enjoy traditional medieval music as well as jesting, juggling and other medieval mayhem! | Tile Making Workshops Thurs 11.30am - 12.30pm & 2pm - 3pm Join Next Stage to make your own woodland tile using clay, plaster and materials from the forest to take home with you. Suitable for families with children over the age of 12. £3 per person. Places are limited so advance booking is essential by phoning 01623 823202. | Medieval Combat Demonstration 3.00pm at the Major Oak Stuntmen from Legends reenactment group will highlight the skills and dangers involved in medieval fighting. | Hunt the Outlaw Fri 1 August 2.30pm, Visitor Centre Purchase your hunting permit from the Sheriff before entering the depths of the forest to search out Robin and his outlaws. A small charge will be made and there is a certificate for all successful hunters. | Have a go Jesting Sat 2 & Sun 3 August 2.30pm, Visitor Centre Learn some new skills from the multi-talented Alan A Dale and Festa. Try juggling, stilt walking and diablo throwing! | Jousting Tourney Sat and Sun in the Jousting Arena The arena comes to life for Sherwood’s ever-popular jousting tournaments featuring the talented Legends reenactment group. See Robin battle it out with the Sheriff and his men. | An Evening of Medieval Merriment Sat 2 August 7.30 – 10pm Enjoy an evening of entertainment with Robin, his outlaws and other Festival favourites.
