This year’s Annual Robin Hood Festival will be taking place at Sherwood Forest Country Park, Edwinstowe, from Monday 28th July – Sunday 3rd August 2003.

During the week, costumed entertainers, ranging from jugglers and jesters through strolling minstrels and street theatre performers, to archers, a falconer, and experts in medieval combat - will be on hand to make sure that there will be lots of fun for everyone.

The festival sees the return of many favourites, including Alan A Dale and Festa, Legends, Singing Plague Victims, What a Palaver, and medieval physician Sir Ralph of Epperstone, as well as Zebediah the Ratcatcher and Grunal the Moneyer.

Newcomers for this year’s Festival include The Bandits of Sherwood, Pans Pantry and two damsels in distress on a crusade to find their knights in shining armour.

No Robin Hood Festival would be complete without archery and, down by the Major Oak, longbow archers from the Forest Bowmen, will be on hand in full costume to demonstrate their skills and give visitors a chance to test their prowess.

The Medieval Market, first introduced three years ago, will also be back, as will all round family entertainer Bill Brookman.

Entry to the Robin Hood Festival is free, although there is a small charge for some of the events.

Parking costs £1.50 per car, but is free for coaches and minibuses with more than 12 seats as well as disabled badge holders.

Performance times vary but take place between 11am and 4.30pm daily, with weather permitting.

Tickets for performances are available at the theatre gate.

Prices are: £1 per adult, 50p per child/concession, and £2.50 per family group (2 adults & 2 children). Under 4s free.
