Andrea Lowe came to our attention with her role as single mother Melanie Woods, in BBC One's 'Rescue Me'.

Andrea's character in Rescue Me - a series which is based around the publishing world of glossy magazines - is a PA, aspiring to be a writer but is continually being knocked back.

She had played similar roles before that, in The Bill and Peak Practice she had again been cast as a single parent.

Andrea hopes for a second series of the comedy drama, but she's keeping her feet on the ground.

She told BBC Nottingham, "I've got my fingers crossed about the future but I'm not so naive as to realise there'll be periods of unemployment during my acting career."

With the uncertainty over whether 'Rescue Me' will get another series, it's difficult to say where Andrea goes next, but who knows.
