Since the paramilitary ceasefires of 1994 and the Good Friday Agreement fours years later, Northern Ireland moved out of the shadow of the Troubles as political stability took hold. One of the main sectors to propser from this was the tourism and hospitality industry.

This sector is considered likely to become one of the main growth areas of the economy in the near future, with the bedding in of the new political institutions and the normalisation of the image of Northern Ireland internationally. The most popular tourist attractions include Belfast, Armagh, Enniskillen, the Giant's Causeway, and Northern Ireland's many castles.
