A local workforce of skilled IT graduates has ensured investment in these industries and ongoing development. The dot com bubble of the early twenty first century did not affect Northern Ireland as much as other areas.

This has been one of the main areas of jobs growth in recent years in Northern Ireland requiring specialist knowledge and qualifications and attracting large amounts of investment from outside Northern Ireland.
