(BBC Newsline 6.30 - 31/03/2009 / Reporter: Mike McKimm) On the hundredth anniversary of laying the Titanic keel, a special ceremony is held to mark the event.

One hundred years after the keel was laid to begin the building of the Titanic, a special ceremony is performed on the same slipway beside the Lagan. Wooden keel blocks were stacked up, and a heavy steel plate rested on top- just as they would have done one hundred years earlier.
