A jeweller's case pulled from a builder's skip during renovation work at Belfast City Hall contains a historical gem in the form of a small roll of film. Captured on it are moving images from the city's very first Lord Mayor's show which took place in 1956. In full colour, the film captures the city as it was in the mid-1950s, the vibrant floats, and the crowds and dignitaries gathered to watch the spectacle.
