It is called the Beat Bearing and uses simple ball bearings in conjunction with a computer, some synthesiser notes and basic drumming to create a distinctive style of music. It is the brainchild of Queens University student Peter Bennett and when he uploaded a video clip of himself operating the instrument it became a You Tube sensation with over a million online hits to date.
