Boy Racers

As Monday morning news reports seem all too often to feature news of yet another spate of road deaths, our team venture to Gweedore in Donegal to investigate a possible solution to this problem of ‘boy racers'.
With spoilers and shiny alloy wheels, the young men and women of Gweedore seem to have speed on the brain. However, are we too quick to judge? Are these sexy add-ons just for show? Just for looks? Who, or what, is the real culprit here? Is it young people speeding round corners – or is the road carnage we are witnessing the fault of infrastructure? Bad roads, poor lighting, too-high speed limits?
There is no doubt that speed is a killer – but how to encourage safe driving without preaching? We take a look at one potential solution currently taking Gweedore by storm.
