Half Minute MelodiesGet some inspiration for your composition by listening to some of the greats talk about how they created their piece of television musical magic. It's 12 notes. Shuffle them around, put them in the right order and you get the job. I thought of a little dog's feet twinkling along and I put a cheeky little melody on top.. voila, a theme is born. All I try to do is write something that is entertaining, pleasant to the ear, inoffensive and as close as possible to the general theme of the programme. It's pure emotion. If you won't get the goosebumps you haven't cracked it. I wouldn't prostitute a tune, and bend it all ways to fit the title.. but if I can make it so, I do. |
