Make Some Music
Murray Gold
He developed a new theme tune for Blue Peter and reversioned that all time great Dr Who. Murray also creates new theme tunes from scratch. He's no stranger to classic British signature music.
Here he talks about making music and his work on Dr Who.
Q1. Do you have to be able to read music or play an instrument to make music? No, of course you don't. Anyone at all can contribute to music.
Q2. How did you become a composer? I used to see my grandma who had a piano, and I couldn't keep my hands off it...
Q3. You recorded a new version of the Dr Who theme tune, is it harder doing that rather than creating your own music? It is in a way... the old Dr Who theme tune was made in 1963 and that didn't have any instruments in it at all.
Q4. Do you need a selection of instruments to make music?
You can make music without any proper instruments or formal training at all... |
