As great as maths and English lessons are, it's tough to beat a visit from a real life star!

Formula One champion Lando Norris made a pit stop at his old primary school, surprising all of the pupils there.

Chew Stoke Church School in Bristol said he inspired the children to "aim high, dream big and remember anything is possible".

Lando Norris made history in December by winning the Formula 1 drivers' championship - becoming the 11th British F1 champion.

He took part in an assembly where he spoke to pupils about what motivated him and the importance of being determined in reaching your goals.

It wasn't the first time that Lando had been in contact with the pupils at the school - he sent them a video message after they had written to him.

The school's headteacher Ben Hewett says Lando went "from racing around our school playground to racing on the world stage" and they are all "extremely proud" of everything he's done.

But of course it wasn't all just speeches, you can't have a champion racer in and not have a bit of racing.

The children got the change to show him their skills on the track in a scooter racing competition with Lando there to congratulate the winners on the finish line.

The school say they are "incredibly grateful" for the special visit and say it's something the "children and whole school community will not forget".
