Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson has announced that the next story in the Gruffalo book series will be called: Gruffalo's Granny.
Following on from The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child, the latest story will see the introduction of Granny, a brand-new character, who will join the Gruffalo family and Fox, Snake, Owl and of course, the courageous mouse.
The new adventure will be illustrated by the original artist Axel Scheffler .
Julia Donaldson told the BBC "I've had this idea for two decades but I've just been so busy writing other things... and now I'm a granny myself maybe that's what spurred me on."

Knobbly knees and turned-out toes …
Julie Donaldson said she was "delighted" Axel worked alongside her.
"I've been saying for 20 years there won't be a sequel... It was a complete surprise for me but Julia came up with such a wonderful story, that I got very excited about it," the artist said.
The first picture book, which came out in 1999, sees a humble mouse encounter a range of animals in the "deep dark wood".
The second story, published in 2004, moves onto the adventures of a young Gruffalo learning about the word.
The two books have sold over 18 million copies and have been sold in 115 languages and dialects.
We'll have to wait until the book comes out on 10 September, 2026, to find out what happens next.
