Officers found the woman's body inside the property
A murder inquiry has begun after a woman's body was found in East Sussex.
Officers discovered her body inside a property in Herstmonceux, near Hailsham, after they were called because of concerns for the occupant, Sussex Police said.
Detectives are waiting to speak to a 50-year-old man, who is from Battle and known to the woman.
The man has serious injuries and is being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The woman who died has not been named.
