Rostam Notarki pushed his customer into the road with an ironing board
A pub landlord who killed a wealthy customer by pushing him in front of an oncoming van with an ironing board has been jailed for seven years.
American Charles Hickox, 53, was chased by Rostam Notarki from the Cardinal Wolsey near Hampton Court Palace after a row over a credit card.
Notarki, 53, of Beech Way, Twickenham, was found guilty of manslaughter following a trial at the Old Bailey.
He admitted perverting the course of justice by hiding CCTV footage.
The Old Bailey was told Mr Hickox was initially ejected from the pub on 7 September, but believed staff had kept his credit card and returned brandishing two tennis racquets.
He pushed the landlord with one of the racquets before running off but Notarki chased him with the ironing board.
Notarki was seen on the CCTV holding the ironing board up horizontally, then hitting Mr Hickox, pushing him into the road outside the pub in East Molesey, Surrey.
He told the jury he acted in self defence, believing his son, Kian, 20 would be attacked by Mr Hickox.

Charles Hickox died an hour after he collided with the van outside the Cardinal Wolsey
Kian Notarki, who lived with his father, and barman Mehrad Mohmadi, 45, of Radcliffe Mews, Hampton, who helped hide the CCTV equipment, were found guilty of perverting the course of justice and each jailed for 12 months.
Rostam Notarki was also jailed for nine months for perverting the course of justice, to run concurrently.
Notarki held his son's hand while the student shook his head as he was jailed.
The court heard that since the death of Mr Hickox, Notarki's pub business has failed.
