Stoke-on-Trent fatal crash victims named

Two passengers who died when a car and a lorry crashed on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent have been named.

Sean Longstaff, 22, of Woodhouse Street in the city, and Marcus Smith, 22, of Yarnfield, were in a green Vauxhall Vectra when the collision happened at Cliffe Vale on Saturday.

A 23-year-old man in the Vectra held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail.

The lorry driver was unhurt in the crash, which happened at 04:45 BST.

The Vectra driver has been released on bail until next month while the investigation continues.
