A decommissioned Kent Police minibus has been donated to the Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR) organisation.

KSAR is a voluntary organisation that operates all year round supporting police and RAF search and rescue units, and other services throughout Kent.

Kent Police said the minibus had been used at the frontline of many force operations, and still had "useful working years left".

The minibus will be converted into a mobile control vehicle for KSAR.

David Ivatt, operations manager, said the organisation had been fundraising for a new vehicle, and the donation would now enable the money to be spent on extra equipment such as searchlights.
