Murder arrest over postman's death in Corley

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a postman who was found dead in a village lane.

Police had believed David Charles Lamont, described by his family as "a friend to many," was hit by a car.

A family statement said the 50-year-old - whose body was found in Burrow Hill Lane, Corley, Warwickshire, on Sunday - was a "father, grandfather, brother, postman, performer".

A 53-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested.

Det Insp Anna Middleton, from Warwickshire Police, said detectives were "keeping an open mind".

She said: "Mr Lamont's death is being treated as unexplained and we're still trying to piece together his final hours and the circumstances that led up to his death."
