Taxi queues built up outside Coventry station as passengers faced delays and disruption
Rail passengers have faced delays and disruption after a fire in Coventry damaged signalling cables.
West Midlands Fire Service was called to a couple of small fires in the Canley area during the early hours.
The fires were extinguished but repairs to damaged cables were expected to last until the end of service on Monday. Buses replaced trains between Leamington Spa and Coventry.
Network Rail said it hoped to run "a normal railway" on Tuesday morning.
Earlier on Monday it said delays of up to an hour were expected on trains between Coventry and Birmingham New Street.
Affected services included Virgin Trains, Cross Country and London Midland, with some trains not stopping at Birmingham International and Coventry.

Some of the damage caused to the rail lines near Coventry by several fires
Network Rail said there were two fires on the railway, both of which affected cables used to control signals.
"While the cause of the fires near Canley isn't confirmed at this stage, it does appear to be vandalism and we will be working with the police to trace those responsible," the spokesman said.
Simon Evans, of Network Rail, said: "There is always a chance that things might not go our way but we are very confident right now that our team who've been working all day to fix this problem will work through the night and they won't stop until the job's done."
