  3. Rail delays expected until end of servicepublished at 17:21

    Repairs to fire-damaged cables, which have caused delays of up to an hour on trains between Coventry and Birmingham New Street, are expected to last until the end of service.

    The services hit by delays include Virgin Trains, Cross Country and London Midland, with some trains not stopping at Birmingham International and Coventry.

    Network Rail have also apologised for engineering works that have overrun near Tyseley, causing problems between Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham., external

    The ambulance service say the lucky driver escaped with only an injury to his elbow.

    The head of murder investigations at West Midlands Police says he's offered his apologies to Nicola Payne's parents. Two men were cleared of the murder of the 18-year-old Coventry mother earlier. 

    He said the force had an "absolute commitment" to continue to look for the people responsible for her disappearance.

    It says west to southwesterly gales are likely to sweep eastwards across parts of the country including Coventry and Warwickshire later on Tuesday.

  10. Traders call for a ban on heavy vehicles using historic bridgespublished at 14:36

    Residents and traders in south Warwickshire are calling for a ban on heavy goods vehicles using historic bridges in the area. 

    Bidford Bridge

    The medieval bridge in Bidford-on-Avon was closed for five months after being hit by a crop-sprayer in June. 

    Business owners there estimated that their trade dropped by 20%, and are now they're asking for a ban on tractors using the bridge.

    The bridge at Hunningham is still shut after being hit on two separate occasions in August.

    A statement on behalf of Nicola Payne's parents was read out by her brother, Nigel, outside at Birmingham Crown Court, where a jury had found two men not guilty of her murder.
