Ahead of the deadline for responses, the BBC has published a set of seven impact briefings setting out the unique value the BBC provides in key sectors and content areas – Sport, News, Arts & Culture, Children’s & Education, Independent Producers, Music, and Science & Nature. Additional sector briefings will be published in due course.
The briefings aim to provide the public, and anyone considering responding to the consultation, a collection of key facts and statistics that offer more of an insight into the role the BBC plays at the heart of the UK’s world-class creative industries.
We hope everyone takes the opportunity to engage with the briefings and to have your say by responding to the consultation before 10 March.
Ultimately, we want the Charter to secure a universal public service BBC for a generation, and so we are asking the UK Government to deliver reform that will strengthen our independence, secure sustainable and fair funding, and enable us to respond to the changing needs of audiences with speed and agility.
We believe that all those who care about this country, our democracy, our creative economy, and our standing in the world should be making the case for a strong, universal public service BBC.
