Palestinian Territories

BBC Media Action first worked in the occupied Palestinian territories from 2012-2017, when we co-produced the TV and radio discussion shows Aswat Min Filasteen (Voices from Palestine) and Hur El Kalam (Free to Speak) with the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Arabic.
We returned to the region in early 2024, following the start of the Israel-Gaza war in October 2023. As part of our Gaza Lifeline Project, we have been producing the audio show 'Storytime with Zaza and Zuzu' for school-aged children. Episodes are hosted by a fictional Palestinian brother and sister and feature traditional Palestinian children's stories and songs. The series, airing in child-friendly spaces in Gaza, aims to provide a moment of childhood for children and their carers living through war, and has been positively received. A second series is now in development.
