The young, fast talking Cassius Clay - later to become Muhammad Ali was knocked down with a powerful uppercut in the fourth round. Clay did recover to win in the fifth. Honeyghan fought Curry into submission over six rounds to pull off arguably British boxing's greatest upset. Eubank won the WBO middleweight crown from Benn who had only lost once previously to Michael Watson. Lewis lost his WBC Heavyweight title after accusations of complacency. Lewis did retain the title after a rematch with McCall in 1997.
