12.02.08 LEMAR v BEN SHEPHARD

Lemar and Ben Shephard will be facing each other in the ring for the fourth Sport Relief Celebrity Boxing Match, they will be joined by their respective trainers Jim McDonnell and Frank Maloney as well as Ben's mentor, British boxing star Ricky Hatton.

The fight will be broadcast as part of the Sport Relief Weekend on Friday 14 March, 2008.

01.02.08 Boxer Laura Saperstein beat Ukrainian Olena Varchenko

She's known as Boxer Girl. Her name is Laura Saperstein...the fighting Lawyer who turned her broad back on a law career to become a pro boxer.

She has signed with top promoter Frank Maloney and fought on the undercard at York Hall, Bethnall Green on 1st February. She beat Ukrainian Olena Varchenko - here are pictures of the fight:

Ross Minter - son of Alan - fights Michael Jennings for the WBU Welterweight title on the Amir Kahn undercard on Saturday at Excel.

23.01.08 Joe Calzaghe on his fight against Bernard Hopkins

Joe Calzaghe has confirmed he'll fight against Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on April 19th. At a press conference in Central London it was announced it will be a non-title light heavyweight bout - Calzaghe has won all of his 44 fights, with 32 knockouts.

08.01.08 Amir Khan prepares for his next fight

Amir Khan is one of a clutch of British fighters looking forward to a big year in the ring.

On February 2nd he fights Denmark's Martin Kristjansen at the Excel Arena for the WBO Intercontinental lightweight title.

Khan has been in London promoting the contest and BBC London's Nigel Bidmead went along to talk boxing and driving bans:

07.01.08 David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli will fight to unify the world cruiserweight title

David Haye's cruiserweight unification clash with Welshman Enzo Maccarinelli will be staged at the O2 Arena on March 8th 2008.

Promoter Frank Warren said: "David and Enzo are the two biggest punchers, not just in Britain but in the world"

Haye climbed off the canvas in November to beat the respected Jean Marc Mormeck in the seventh round, claiming the WBC and WBA titles. Maccarinelli retained his WBO belt with a fourth-round stoppage of Mohamed Azzaoui in Cardiff last month.
