Many couples met and formed relationships in very short spaces of time as they didn't know when the G.I. would be moved on - especially when the G.I.'s were in the Personnel Dispersel Centre.
We had every evening free and spent that in Warrington, and it was there that I met a lovely young lady called Edith Jones. She had an identical sister called Lilian and everyone had trouble telling them apart. We arranged to meet again and did in fact every evening, not knowing when the last night would be.
