Leicester drew level on points with Bristol at the top by handing out a 43-15 thrashing at Welford Road and their superior points difference means they are the new leaders of the Guinness Premiership.

The Tigers ran three tries in the first half with fly-half Ian Humphreys setting up the opening try for Shane Jennings, grabbing the second himself and added a penalty and conversion before being replaced.

Leicester ran another three tries in the second half, but Pat Howard was not completely satisfied:

"The outcome was great, but it was not perfect. We still did not finish them off and let them in for two cheap tries."
Pat Howard, Tigers' Head Coach

"The outcome was great, but it was not perfect. We still did not finish them off and let them in for two cheap tries.

There's a long way to go and we have got lots of big games coming up. Let's not read too much into it. But we are in the right position in the top four. That's where we want to be."

Howard also says that he plans to change the whole 15 for the Boxing Day game against London Irish:

"We will have Lewis Moody, Martin Corry, Andy Goode and Harry Ellis all out there.

This is a very big period for us and if we have done the right things medically and in terms of getting ourselves organised we will be ok."
