1. puncture theory

Puncture નો સરળ શબ્દોમાં અર્થ થાય છે કોઈ વસ્તુમાં કાણું પાડવું. અહીંનો કહેવાનો ભાવાર્થ એ છે કે જો એકવાર કોઈ વસ્તુમાં કાણું પડી જાય, તો એ લાંબા સમય સુધી ચાલતું નથી. જો કંઈક સિદ્ધાંતને 'પંક્ચર' કરે છે, તો તેનો અર્થ એ છે કે સિદ્ધાંત હવે સાચો નથી.

3. figment of imagination

Figment of imagination એટલે કોઈ વસ્તુ જેની શોધ કરવામાં આવ્યું હોય અથવા વિચાર કરવામાં આવ્યું હોય. Figment નો આજકલ ખાસકરીને ચોક્કસ અભિવ્યક્તિ તરીકે ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે.
