A ten-year-old schoolgirl from Pakistan has been taking general rubbish and turning it into gift bags to help clean up the growing waste problem in her country. Pakistan generates 20m tonnes of rubbish a year and the figure is growing by 2.4% annually. Could Pakistan’s ‘youngest social entrepreneur’ have the answer? Zymal Umer estimates she has sold $5,000 worth of bags and donates her profits to children’s charities, winning multiple international awards for her work.
