ఇవాల్టి ఎపిసోడ్‌లో ఇంగ్లిష్‌లో ఆహ్వానం పంపడం ఎలాగో నేర్చుకుందాం. దీనికి సంబంధించిన కొన్ని వాక్యాలు విందాం. మీకో ప్రశ్న: ఇక్కడ ఎవరు తమ ఇంటికి ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నారు?

Are you free tonight?

Do you want to go to the cinema on Friday?

Would you like to come for dinner this weekend?

Why don't you come to the beach with us?

విన్నారా? మూడో వ్యక్తి తమ ఇంటికి భోజనానికి రమ్మని ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు విన్న అన్ని పద్ధతులనూ జాగ్రత్తగా పరిశీలిద్దాం. ఆహ్వానించేముందు అవతలివాళ్లు అందుబాటులో ఉన్నారా లేరా అని కనుక్కోవడం మంచిది.

Yes! So you can ask question 'Are you free …?’ and then give the day or time.  So you can say 'Are you free this weekend?' Or 'Are you free tonight?’

Great! Hopefully the person is free and you can invite them to do something.

Sian 
Yes, one way to invite people is to use the verb 'want' – 'Do you want to…' But what happens to the pronunciation? Let's listen again.

Do you want to go to the cinema on Friday?

సౌమ్య 
Interesting! So 'want, to కలిసి 'wanna' అవుతుంది.

Sian 
Yes. Let's practise. Repeat after me:

‘wanna’

‘Do you wanna go to the cinema?'

సౌమ్య
భలే! ఇక్కడ 'want to' తరువాత క్రియాపదం కలపాలి. ఈ ఉదాహరణలో క్రియ ‘go’. ఈ క్రియాపదాలు వాక్యానికనుగుణంగా మారుతూ ఉంటాయి. చాలామటుకు కామన్‌గా ఆహ్వానాల్లో 'have' ఉంటుంది… Do you wanna have…? or 'come' - Do you wanna come…

So next we heard ‘would you like to…'. This is slightly more formal than 'do you want to' but it’s another useful way to make an invitation.

సౌమ్య
Yes, and it follows the same structure as 'do you want to..' so  we just add the base verb.

Sian 
Let's practise. Repeat after me:

‘Would you like to…’

‘Would you like to come for dinner?’

సౌమ్య
Great! మనకి ఇంకో పద్ధతి మిగిలిపోయింది కదా!

Sian
That's right – We can also use 'why don't you…'? 

సౌమ్య 
'Why don't you..'?  ఇది కొంచం నెగటివ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది కానీ ఆహ్వానించేటప్పుడు సానుకూలమైన వాక్యమే అవుతుంది.   

Sian 
And after 'why don't you..?' we just add the verb.

సౌమ్య
'Why don't you..' అని సలహాలు ఇవ్వడానికి కూడా వాడొచ్చు. 'Why don't you..' అని వాడినప్పుడు వాళ్లని మనం ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నాం అని తెలియడానికి ‘go’ కు బదులు ‘come’ అని వాడాలి. తరువాత 'with us'  or 'with me' అని కూడా కలపొచ్చు. Let’s listen again.

Why don't you come to the beach with us?

Nice!  ఆహ్వానం అందించే అన్ని పద్ధతులూ నేర్చేసుకున్నాం కదా. ఇప్పుడు కొంత సాధన చేద్దాం. ముందు మీ స్నేహితులు రేపు అందుబాటులో ఉన్నారా లేదా కనుక్కోవాలి? ఎలా అడుగుతారు? తరువాత Sian కూడా చెబుతారు. మీరు చెప్పిన వాక్యంతో సరిపోల్చుకోండి.

Did you say the same? మీ స్నేహితులు రేపు ఫ్రీగానే ఉన్నారనుకుందాం. వాళ్లని పార్క్‌కు రమ్మని ఆహ్వానించండి. ‘Want’ అనే క్రియను వాడండి. ఉచ్చారణ గుర్తుంది కదూ?

Well done. వాళ్లు పార్క్‌కు రాలేమన్నారు. మీ ఇంటికి మధ్యహ్నం భోజనానికి రమ్మని పిలవండి. ‘Why’ అని మొదలెట్టండి.
