Useful expressions

1. randomised controlled study (noun)

Randomised controlled study એટલે એવો અભ્યાસ જેમાં ભાગ લેનારને કોઈ પણ સમૂહમાં શામેલ કરવામાં આવે છે. આ અભ્યાસની વિશ્વસનીયતાને સુનિશ્ચિત કરે છે.

• The researchers used a randomised controlled study to ensure that the results were reliable.

2. subjective (adjective)

Subjective એટલે વ્યક્તિગત. આ કોઈની ભાવના અથવા વિચાર ઉપર આધારિત હોય છે અને વૈજ્ઞાનિક રીતે મૂલ્યાંકન થઈ શકતું નથી. આ objective નો વિરોધી શબ્દ છે.

• People's reporting of their feelings is subjective, so it's important to find objective data as well.

3. subjectied to (verb)

Subjectied to એટલે કોઈ માટે કંઈક કરવું. જો તમે કોઈ પ્રક્રિયા માટે subjected to થવું પડયું હોય તો એ માટે તમને કહેવામાં આવ્યું હોઈ શકે. વૈજ્ઞાનિક સંદર્ભે વાત કરતી વખતે આનો નિષ્પક્ષ રીતે ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે. અન્ય સંદર્ભોમાં subjected to નો ઉપયોગ એ જણાવવા માટે થાય છે કે કંઈક મુશ્કેલ અથવા અપ્રિય છે.

• We subjected participants to a variety of tests.

4. flickering (verb)

Flickeringએટલે ટમટમતું. સરળ શબ્દોમાં કહીએ તો ઝડપથી બંધ અને ફરીથી ચાલુ થવું.

• Participants tracked flickering objects on a screen.

5. statistically significant (adjective)

Statistically significantનો અર્થ થાય છે એટલું મોટું છે કે તે પ્રયોગનું પરિણામ હોઈ શકે.

• The changes observed are statistically significant.

6. correlates with (verb)

Correlated with એટલે વસ્તુ સાથે સંબંધિત.

• Improved performance correlated with carrying out meditation exercises.
