- I love reading! As soon as I pick up a book, I lose track of time.
have nothing to lose
be in a situation that is so bad, it can't get worse
- I decided to try and fix my car myself. It wouldn't even start, so I had nothing to lose.

Quick! We've got no time to lose! Here are four phrases with 'lose'.
When you lose your head, you stop being able to control yourself or act calmly.
In such a tense game, it's important that players don't lose their heads.
If you lose your touch, it means you used to be good at something but you're not anymore.
I used to be able to juggle… but I think I've lost my touch.
If you are enjoying doing something so much that you forget what time it is, you lose track of time.
When I'm chatting with my best friend, I just lose track of time.
If you've got nothing to lose, it means you are in a bad situation. You might as well try doing something because it can't get any worse.
I'm not sure about the job offer, but I've got nothing to lose so I said yes.
