Useful expressions

1. be willing to take the lead

'take the lead' એટલે કોઈ કાર્યમાં સૌથી અગત્યની ભૂમિકા ભજવવી. ઘણી વખત આની પાછળ 'in' અને 'ing' નો ક્રિયાપદ પ્રકાર આવે છે.

• The manager was looking for someone who waswilling to take the lead in finding new clients.
• The professor has beenwilling to take the lead in researching near ways to carry out experiments. 

2. on track to meet

જ્યારે કંઈક 'on track to meet' છે તો એનો અર્થ થાય છે લોકોને અપેક્ષા છે કે લક્ષ્યાંક સુધી પહોંચવામાં સફળ થશે. પણ આના માટે પુરવા હોવું જરૂરી છે.'Meet' પછી સંજ્ઞા આવે છે જે લક્ષ્યાંક વિશે જણાવે છે. દાખલા તરીકે 'goal', 'commitment', 'target' અથવા 'deadline'.

• The bank is on track to meet their profit target.
• The project is on track to meet its deadline.

3. yet to find space in

આ અભિવ્યક્તિમાં space' નો સામાન્યતઃ લાક્ષણિક રીતે ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે, જેથી સમય અથવા ધ્યાનનો ઉલ્લેખ કરી શકાય. જો કંઈક 'yet to find space' છે તો એનો અર્થ થયો કે તેના માટે સમર્પિત કોઈ સંસાધનો નથી અથવા પ્રયત્નો કરવામાં આવ્યો નથી, અને તે અમારી અપેક્ષાઓની વિરુદ્ધ છે.

• We have yet to find spacein our schedule for that meeting.  = We haven't had time.
• We have yet to find spacein our plans to address this problem. = We've been too busy to do this.
