તો મિત્રો, સંવાદમાથી ત્રણ વાતો બહાર આવી. પ્રથમ વ્યક્તિની એના શર્ટ માટે પ્રશંસા કરવામાં આવી છે. બીજી વ્યક્તિની એના ‘painting’ એટલે કે ચિત્રકામ માટે પ્રશંસા થઈ છે જ્યારે ત્રીજી વ્યક્તિએ બહુ સારી પાર્ટી આપી છે, જેના કારણે તેની પ્રશંસા થઈ રહી છે. હવે ફરીથી પ્રથમ વ્યક્તિને સાંભળો અને જાણો કે તેનાં શર્ટની પ્રશંસા કઈ રીતે થાય છે અને તે પ્રશંસાનો પ્રત્યુત્તર કઈ રીતે આપે છે.

So the most important thing to do when you receive a compliment is just to say 'thank you', here we also had 'that's so kind'. ‘So’ means the same as 'very' here. You could also say 'Thank you, that's so nice' or 'Thank you so much'

ફરીથી આ સંવાદ શરૂ થાય છે, કોઈ વ્યક્તિનાં આભાર માનવાથી. પણ અહીં વ્યક્તિ 'proud' શબ્દનો ઉપયોગ કરે છે. તે કહે છે proud about it એટલે કે મને ગર્વ છે. What else could people say?

Here, he has shared the compliment with someone else. If you want to say that someone has helped you when you receive a compliment, you can say 'I couldn't have done it without' – and they just say who.

Listen carefully to how we pronounce the five words 'could', 'not', 'have', 'done' and 'it'. 'not' and 'have' get contracted to 'n't' and ''ve' – 'n't've'. 'Done' and 'it' join together – 'dunnit'. Listen and repeat:
