Useful expressions

1.  gender disparity

A 'disparity' is a lack of equality – so if there is a gender disparity related to an area, it means that there is a gender difference related to that area. Other kinds of disparities include 'economic disparity' 'racial disparity' and 'age disparity'

2.  age bracket

'Age bracket' means the same as 'age range'. It means 'the people between these two ages'.

3. lurk

The word 'lurk' has a negative connotation. If something 'lurks' somewhere then it suggests that it is  dangerous and may be hidden.
