Key Skills Standards and Profect Brief/Assignment

Standards

These are the criteria you will be working towards. If you don't already have a copy, click on the link below to take you to the QCA Key Skills website, where you'll be able to download and save a copy of the standards for your own Key Skills course.

QCA Key Skills Standards

If you'd like more information about standards and guidance, and on how to understand and follow them, have a look at our section on Key Skills Standards - A Guide for Students.

Assignment Brief

Depending on which Key Skill you're working towards, the project/assignment brief gives you instructions on what you have to do. You'll find some example assignment briefs on the Key Skills site:

Promoting Your School/College Canteen
Producing a Leaflet
Vending Machines
Paying Guests
On Air - Producing a Radio Advertisement

However, your teacher may issue an assignment that is integrated with your main course of study. For instance, an Art student may have to research and write an essay about an artist or designer. They may also have to present research on a different artist or designer using PowerPoint, or another presentation method, like an overhead projector.

Go to the next screen to find out about what to include in your Evidence Records section.
