Blast Tour

I've worked on many different projects, with many different people. However my passion is for working with young people and theatre and this is exactly what I will be doing for BBC Blast Isle of Man as Drama workshop Leader.

After graduating from The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in 2005 with a degree in Community Arts, I have been working non-stop to build a freelance career as a workshop facilitator and Artistic Director of Young People’s Theatre and Community Projects, as well as developing my community arts company, Inside Out Arts.

Most recently I was involved in running Summer Schools both with Sideways Theatre (Birmingham) and my company Inside Out Arts.

I worked with ages ranging from 8-18 over three different groups. With Sideways, I ran two Summer Schools, the first of which culminated in a sharing with parents.

Inside Out ran an inclusive summer school for disabled and non-disabled young people. This took place in Liverpool and the group created a devised piece that culminated in a performance.

On the Isle of Man, I am working alongside Enormous Films and we have already been in discussions about how we will connect the film and drama.

I can promise all those involved that we have some exciting ideas for them to sink their teeth into. It will be challenging but loads of fun and completely unique to the group.

I am excited about discovering the talents of the participants involved and creating a spectacular piece for the showcase.
