Blast Tour

I remember the first time I experienced the pleasure of design was when my mum made me a waistcoat and I got to choose the colours.

A purple knitted number with a satin back! I soon decided that I would want to do this for the rest of my life.

Throughout my time at school I felt lucky because I knew what career I wanted to pursue in the future, a question that a lot of my friends still wonder about today.

I knew that a future in fashion was something I wanted, so I enrolled on a BTEC in Art and Design at the Isle of Man College.

I felt that exposing myself to creative arts would be the outlet to help guide me within my work.

It was an amazing experience to fully submerse myself in such varied types of disciplines, I appreciated this time immensely.

After leaving the Isle of Man College I embarked on a 3 year BA Honours course in Fashion Design at Ravensbourne College. I am just about to enter my third year and will be focusing on Menswear Design.

Menswear is going through a big change. I feel that men are now becoming more conscious of what they wear and how they look. I think it is an exciting time to be involved with menswear fashion design.

Colour, pattern and proportion are important things for me within the design process . By combining old notions of dressing with new ideas, I want to create fashion aware pieces, with a contemporary feel.

Blast, Isle of Man

I am excited to be working alongside BLAST as it is a project that I know I would have loved to have been a part of whilst I was at school.

Hopefully it will be informative and educational, but most of all enjoyable.
