A lawyer representing the family of the late pop star Michael Jackson has told a US court that the concert promoters were responsible for his death, because they hired the doctor who gave him a fatal dose of anaesthetic.

The lawyer said executives at AEG knew the singer was in fragile health.

But he said the promoters were prepared to do whatever it took to get Michael Jackson to perform a series of concerts in London, to launch a lucrative world tour.

AEG denies the claim.

The Jackson family are seeking millions of dollars in damages from AEG for alleged negligence.

Peru is the world's biggest producer of coca leaves

The United Nations says Peru has become the world's main producer of coca leaves, despite a small drop in the area under cultivation.

According to a report by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, coca plantations in Peru covered sixty-thousand hectares last year - twenty per cent more than the previous top producer, Colombia, where crop extermination policies have been very successful.

It's not clear how much of the leaf output is used for the legal production of teas and other products, but Peru, Colombia and Bolivia remain the world's top cocaine producers.

PBB mengatakan bahwa Peru telah menjadi penghasil daun koka terbesar di dunia, meskipun beberapa lahan yang dikembangkan mengalami penurunan kecil.
