Pop Party for Hull Teens

Wednesday 16th July saw possibly the biggest under 18’s night ever to have happened in Hull so far. Lexington Avenue night club was jam packed with eagerly awaiting pop fans that came to party, have a good time and see huge pop acts.

All bands stormed the stage and fans cheered with excitement and happiness - what a night it was. With the club full of fans, more were waiting around outside to see if they could catch a glimpse and possibly meet their heroes.

Kate and Harry, both 17 from Driffield, were going to wait outside all night to hopefully meet D-side, a five piece Irish band they adore.

Kate said: "I totally adore them especially Derek, I have to see them at least twice a week and I follow them around whenever I can".

Girls Aloud were first on stage and warmed up the crowd by performing their huge debut single "Sound Of The Underground" which stormed to number one at Christmas.

Girls Aloud are a five piece girl band who were unfolded in front of our very own eyes on a reality tv show. The band consists of: Nicola, Sarah, Cheryl, Kimberley and Nadine.

The girls also performed their recent hit "No Good Advice" and single "Life Got Cold".

One of the girls even left their hair extensions to some of their adoring fans who were waiting around outside.

The Cheeky Girls were second on stage and the crowd went crazy when the girls performed their top five hit "Touch My Bum (The Cheeky Song)".

Girls in the crowd showed off by cutting some of the dance routine to the song and even some of the boys got involved as well.

The Cheeky Girls also performed "Take Your Shoes Off" and an exclusive track "Hooray Hooray (It’s A Cheeky Holiday) another single releases.

D-side were last on stage and were cutting it fine for time after arriving 20 minutes before the show ended, but they managed to mellow the crowd down with their performances.

The band performed their debut single "Speechless" which entered in the top 10 in April and also performed their hit single "Invisible".

D-side consists of five lads: Ryan, Derek, Damien, Shane, and Dane all from Ireland. They won ‘Best New Tour Act’ of 2002 at "The Smash Hits Poll Winners Party".

The pop fans were happy both in and outside of the club and enjoyed every second of the event.
