D-side

D-side consists of five lads called: Ryan O’Riain (19), Derek Moran (19), Damien Bowe (21), Shane Creevey (19), and Dane Guiden (20). All are from Ireland and have always loved music and have wanted to be in a band since a very young age.

Lets find out how they got together...

Damien: "Shane and Derek went to stage school so they knew each other from a very young age. They went to lots of auditions and that’s how they met ‘Dane’. Dane went into a pub one day and me and Ryan were performing in the pub band. That’s how we got together."

And what about their name - How did they choose D-side?

Ryan: "We couldn’t come up with a name at all and Dane suggested ‘D-side’, we put ourselves together a year and half ago and worked with that name for 6 months. We kept the name because we all love it so much."

In Summer 2002 D-side released their debut single "Stronger Together" in Ireland.

D-side then toured schools and on the Smash Hits Poll Winners Tour. They than did more tours and released their debut single ‘Speechless’ in April. They came back with their new single ‘Invisible’ which entered the charts at number 12.

Derek admits: "We want to go everywhere including Japan, Asia and America, we just want to climb the career ladder as high as possible."
