These beautiful and impressive white chocolate wreaths are seriously easy to pull together – a great little festive craft to make with kids.
Ingredients
- 100g/3½oz flaked almonds
- 150g/5½oz white chocolate
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 48 mini salted pretzels
- 100g/3½oz maraschino cherries, to garnish
Method
Preheat your oven to 160C/140C Fan/Gas 3. Line 3 trays with baking paper.
Spread the flaked almonds out on one of the trays and toast in the oven for 10 minutes or until fragrant. Set aside.
Add the white chocolate and almond extract to a heatproof bowl. Melt in the microwave in 15 second bursts, stirring in between each one, until fully melted.
Arrange 6 of the pretzels into a circle on one of the trays. One at a time, dip the bottom half of the pretzel in the white chocolate then return to the circle, ensuring they are all touching. Repeat until one circle is done. Now repeat again with another 6 chocolate dipped pretzels on top of the circle you have just made until your first wreath has formed.
While the top layer of chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a few of the flaked almonds and arrange some cherries on top, pressing so they stick. Set aside.
Repeat until you have 4 full wreaths, then refrigerate until all the wreaths are set. This will take 10–15 minutes.
Once set, store in an airtight container until needed.
