The BBC Philharmonic and its Chief Conductor end their tour of Spain appropriately in Juanjo Mena’s home city of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Situated in the Basque-region, Vitoria Gasteiz is rich in history and culture and this concert promises to be one of the highlights of the orchestra’s tour.
Spanish pianist Javier Perianes joins the players again to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4. And the tour ends on a fittingly dramatic note, with Prokofiev’s ballet score to Shakespeare’s tale of star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.
