What jobs do you do at BBC Radio Cumbria? Receptionist/BA How did you start your career at BBC Radio Cumbria? Covering Maternity leave on Reception What other jobs have you done besides working at BBC Radio Cumbria? I worked on reception and in Sales for Commercial Office equipment. I also worked on Reception at the Cumbria Park Hotel, I ran a Sunbed and Tanning Salon and have also worked as a Market Researcher . How long have you worked at BBC Radio Cumbria and why do you like it? I love my job because I love communicating with people and you certainly have to do plenty of that on reception and on the phones for programmes. My jobs are varied and that keeps the work interesting and I work with lovely people altogether I just love my job (how sad am I?... or on the other hand how lucky am I to be able to have a job I love?!). What would you do if you didnt work at BBC Radio Cumbria? Look for a job in PR or interior design or unless I won the Lottery
be very bored What would listeners be surprised to learn about you? That Im a tough little cookie underneath the soft exterior and have learnt to cope with most things life has thrown at me and its thrown quite a lot at me over past years
What do you do when youre not at work? Enjoy being with my son and daughter, going out with my friends to pubs, clubs and restaurants, love going to the cinema to watch romantic or comedy films, and spend a lot of time doing my house up as I love interior design. I like reading (when I have the time) and spend a lot of time listening to music (I can often be found dancing around the house, hoover in hand, to the sounds of Westlife, Anastacia, most chart and dance music, Mike and the Mechanics and most rock music) and when I can I love going to concerts, musicals and travelling. Is there any other interesting information? I am an Avid Manchester United Fan (dont suppose thats interesting to some people), love the Lake District and where ever I live I like to be surrounded by trees or at least be able to look out of the window and see some. I spend quite a lot of time thinking up and taking part in fund raising events for Meningitis Research and CHUF, the childrens hearts unit fund at The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. |
