|  | More info: This walk is a short loop that takes you a long way back in time - and even to the future. The walk takes in ancient woodland and many sites of prehistoric and Triassic life, as well as getting you up close to the recent and future use of the land, with farms, a quarry and even an airport. The route allows you to discover the hidden secrets of the heart of Warwickshire, through the ancient homes of extinct elephants, pre-ice age man and more. | Getting there: Bubbenhall is closer than you think. Despite feeling like the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, it is only: 5 miles north of Leamington 7 miles south of Coventry 7 miles east of Kenilworth
By bus:Johnsons operate a number of bus services to Bubbenhall, they are listed alphabetically by starting point here: Coventry / Bubbenhall service no 539 Kenilworth / Bubbenhall service no 539 Leamington / Bubbenhall service no 538 Warwick / Bubbenhall service no 539 Call Johnsons on 01564 797000 for full details. Get off the bus at Pit Hill on Bubbenhall Village green (opposite the Three Horseshoes pub). For an example of times, you can leave Kenilworth at 11.31 to arrive in Bubbenhall at 11.55 and then return at 4.34 to be back in Kenilworth at 5.04. This should give you time for the walk and to sample the pubs!
By car: There is parking at the start of the walk in Bubbenhall Village, either on unrestricted roads or in the pub or village hall car parks, if you ask permission.If you're up for walking a longer route, you can park at Ryton Pools Country Park visitor centre and start the route from there. Both options are marked on the map. |  | Walk conditions: There are a number of stiles on the route. All are very solid and have a maximum step up of about 30cm. If you want to cycle, use a pushchair or wheelchair, try the alternative Ryton walk which has no stiles but covers the same fascinating area. Take a look at the map to decide which option is best for your needs. NB: Dogs should be kept on leads.
