Make a magic wallet for your BP card

Keep your Blue Peter badge and badge card safe with this super useful, and super awesome magic wallet! Just follow these instructions and soon your BP badge and badge card will have their very own 100% custom made home!

Instructions:

Step one

  • Fold a piece of card into eight sections and with a pair of scissors, cut out five identical pieces.

Step two

  • Use a ruler to cut a 1.5cm strip lengthwise from each of your other pieces of A4 coloured card. Fold each strip in half and cut.

So now you should have five rectangles in one colour of card and four 1.5cm strips, two in one colour and two in another.

Step three

  • To make the card holding pocket, take two card rectangles. Place one on top of the other to create a T-shape. Fold each of the exposed edges behind the back of the card and with a pair of scissors, snip off the corners.

Step four

  • Now you can fold the edges back over and secure the edges with tape to the back of the card

Step five

  • Take one of your pieces of A7 coloured card and lay it portrait in front of you. Lay two of your coloured strips of paper in an X shape on top of the card, with the centre of the cross being on the centre of the piece of card.

Step six

  • Fold the two left-hand ends of paper behind the card. Flip everything over and secure the two folded paper ends to the back of the card with tape.

Step seven

  • Grab your pocket piece and place it under the paper strips. With tape, secure the right-hand paper strips to the back of the second piece of card.

Step eight

  • Flip it over so the X is facing upwards and is on the left card. Place your last two strips of paper horizontally across the piece of card on the right. Make sure not to overlap with the X.

Step nine

  • Fold the two right-hand edges underneath the card and tuck the two remaining paper strip edges behind the card on the left. 

Step ten

  • Flip everything over and secure the edges of the strips to the back of the card with tape.

Step elleven

  • Abracadabra! The folding mechanism should now work! Now all you need to do is decorate your wallet. Cover up all the tape by gluing on the last two remaining bits or rectangular card.

Now all that's left is to take your wallet and badge to one of the hundreds of free badge attractions all over the UK!
