Mother's Day gift ideas YOU can make or do

Mother's Day 2025 is on Sunday 30th March. Mother’s Day is about celebrating our mums, or that special someone in your life, and everything they do for us.

Maybe you have someone else who cares for you that you would like to celebrate too!

Here are six quick, easy ways to show that special person in your life how much they mean to you, that you can do for free without shopping or spending your pocket money!

Do one (or more) of these yourself to give a unique and thoughtful homemade gift, using sustainable up-cycling and creativity.

1) Give a hug

Everyone loves a cuddle, especially mums!

2) Make breakfast in bed

It's a classic Mother's Day treat, but your mum will love having a lie-in while you prepare a breakfast feast!

3) Write a poem

Get creative and write a poem about how great she is. She'll love it!

4) Let them put their feet up

We all know that mums work really hard to care for us! Let your mum relax while you take over some of her jobs for the day.

5) Make a 'Reasons why I love you' jar

Decorate an empty jar or box, then fill it with all the reasons why you think your mum is the best. She can take one out and read it whenever she wants a little pick-me-up!

6) Paint a picture

Mums love thoughtful homemade presents, so why not get out your paints, pencils, crayons, or anything you fancy, and make her a lovely picture... or if you prefer to make one digitally, get creative with the Creative Lab and create a picture with stickers, filters and spin art!
